Training!

I don't have my journal here, so we will see how well I do remembering stuff from this week! :)

One of the funniest things was having one of our investigators show up to watch a baptism drunk...we were dying! It was so great to have him there though. He loved it!

Here is some exciting and crazy news....I am training this next transfer! I didn't know they did that, but here I am. I will meet my new companion tomorrow. It is possible that I will be training my adorable friend Hermana Callaway! I hope so!

CONGRATS to my sweet Miss Idaho roomie from last year, Sarah Downs, for winning Miss Idaho this year! You deserve it more than anyone I know! And I am so excited to see how you do at Miss America!

Swings! I hadn't swung forever! We found a swingset at the end of last P-day.

Sometimes we eat American food...this pizza was amazing!

This is the cutest recent convert selling helotes. We go and help husk the corn sometimes...her brother is taking the lessons and her mom is just the sweetest!

This last Sunday we had THREE investigators at church. That is a lot considering none of our families came! Maria Garcia should be getting baptized this next weekend. She finally came to a baptism this weekend and it was so great. She loved it! It was in English and the little boys getting baptized were hilarious...kind of irreverent though. The water apparently was pretty hot, so one of the little boys kept whining, "Dad, this is really hot...ow...this is so hot...ow", over and over again. Then when he was baptized, he flailed his body around and his legs came up. I had a hard time holding back a few giggles. The Spirit was still very strong there though. :) Then the second boy came up out of the water choking on water. I was terrified for Maria, especially after that because she kept saying "No se como nadar" (I don't know how to swim). After the two young boys a woman investigator was baptized and everything was so much smoother. I am so excited for Maria. She is such a good woman. She took us out to lunch afterwards!

Maria should be getting baptized this next weekend! She is wonderful! After she came to a baptism, she finally feels ready to do it! So excited for her!

Dora Irma Martinez: This woman is incredible! She comes out with us all the time to appointments. All the investigators just love her, and she teaches the Gospel Principles class. Maria especially loves her...and we just love saying her name. Dora Irma...kinda tricky! :)
Elsa Cano's husband is still being difficult. Every time we see him, he is drunk. He says that he never drinks, only when we see him and yet he has been drunk EVERY time we have met him. He still won't let Elsa come to church because he heard some weird stuff about tithing and doesn't want her to leave him. I am on his good side, but Sister Oxley isn't. For some reason, he just is so difficult with her. Anyway, he said some horrible things in front of Elsa that just broke my heart. I just keep having to think that one day he will be a righteous priesthood holder. One day. She is amazing! She is reading the Book of Mormon and REALLY understanding it! So neat!

Mexican Food sign that was in our apartment- we decided to take it down.
You could definitely tell there were elders living in here before we came :)
Today was the first P-day I got a little nap...it was little, but it was a nap! :) I was so grateful because I am exhausted some days.

My sweet best friend Arlyn turned 5! Her mom threw the cutest b-day party
for her and had us all come for dinner!

This is the ADORABLE cake that they had at Arlyn's bday party.  It was Tangled themed! I was in heaven! Sometimes Arlyn and I sing songs from Tangled...don't tell anyone. :)

A few weeks ago, I told a story about a woman named Maite who we met on the bus and had the coolest, most spiritual experiences with. Well she used to live in this different area and we were trying to find where she lived, and then we found out she moved… INTO OUR WARD! Not our area, but the other sisters' area. She is progressing like CRAZY! I knew it. :) I can't wait to see her at church. I just have such a soft spot in my heart for her.

The other hermanas in our ward. We LOVE them!

I have been thinking a lot about the Atonement this week. An elder in our district read a really cool story in district meeting about the Atonement. I just couldn't stop thinking about it. Maybe you can look it up. It is about a train and a father who sacrifices his little son to save all the people aboard a train. Anyway, I just love my Savior. He knows me perfectly. He knew that I would be MOST happy being on a mission right now. He knew that there were people who needed me. I just can't thank Him enough for caring enough about me to guide my life where I am. I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week! Try praying with only thanks and see how you feel. I have loved doing that a couple times a week. :)
