Birthday Highlights!

It was my birthday last Tuesday and I can’t tell you how special it was. My companion made it super special! J She decorated the apartment with signs and stuff in the middle of the night. Then later at Grandpa’s they sang to me. When we were done emailing, Sister Fallentine planned something fun and all of our sisters: Sister Morco, Sister Hunt, Sister Johnson, and Sister Mendenhall were hiding in our apartment. They scared me so badly! It was super fun. Then they took me to Coldstone and treated me to it!  After we just rested and got ready for dinner at the Aragon’s…I love her!

Oh yes, we caught a cockroach and kept it because it looked funny…it had babies….35 of them.  I was SOOOOO grossed out! YUCK! They are all dead now.

This week we took some women out with us who had never gone out with the missionaries. They both really liked it. One was Hermana Viela. I think a lot of people are scared and don’t know what to expect. I believe we are really changing what they think about it. We went to visit Luis a member referral. Apparently he has Alzheimer’s. Well he was just as cute as can be. He is 79ish and super funny. He accepted to be baptized in April. That is what his daughter really wanted when she called us and told us about him. That lesson went really well. The funny thing was him at the end saying the prayer. He read the example word for word that there is in the pamphlet to help people learn how to pray.  This is what he said, “Dirigirse a Padre Celestial. Exprese los sentimientos de su Corazon.” We were all giggling a little bit because it was cute.  He didn’t remember Sister Fallentine at church on Sunday.

Mary threw me a surprise bday party with Hermana Diaz, Hermana Ruis, and Jesus. They made my night. She had two non-members there which was fantastic! Mary gave me pearls for my bday. Jesus had his mom make me a cake. Also Carson sent me the sweetest bday gift. I have such good friends and family!

FRIDAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER! My allergies were really bad. There is a TON of dust everywhere. When you look up into the mountains, it is crazy how much dust there is. We headed to district meeting JUST in time. It was a really good meeting. Then we went and did service for Grandpa. WE then picked up sweet Hermana Ruis. We took her to Susanna. IT was perfect! Earlier this week I really felt like we should set our baptismal date goal at least 6. I just really felt like that. My comp said that was pretty high but we did it anyway. Well today we are at 7! We are so very happy!

We started off helping Leslie with her Personal Progress. Then it turned into a lesson about the gospel. We used my domino thing. The kids are so stinking smart…remembered everything. We ended up setting a baptismal date for the 3rd of May with all five of them.  We were so excited. Every other time we have invited, Susana has said no, but this time it was great. J Hermana Ruis was able to help Susana a lot too. Then Hermana Ruis took us to dinner at this little place called Delicias. We ended up talking to a table of four sitting next to us. That was pretty great. J Pancho Clause…can’t ever forget him. Then we went with Hermana Ruis to her place (well where she works and lives). It was such a beautiful home. We helped her get all ready for the dance and then Roberto showed up. We all went to the ward party. We waited and waited for so long. Well after a lot of work, 9 investigators showed up and our 2 recent converts as well as some less actives. It was incredible! Susana and her kids came and they loved it. J I can’t tell you how happy I was that night. WOW! The Lord really did push me to the limits and then blessed me a ton.

We had birthday dinner at Isaac Ochoa’s after. It was his bday the 22nd.  It was hilarious. Her sisters and mom were there. We bought Isaac a little gift and took pictures with our bigotes on.

Luis came to church with the Avila’s. He was picking his nose and Hermano Avila was looking for tissue. Hermana Roman calls Elder Keddington “Elder Lexington” And calls me Hermana “knee-ay”. She calls Hermana Fallentine…well she doesn’t try to say her name. Then she calls Elder Foulk “Elder Fox.” Good times. Luis was wandering after church and Hermano Avila went looking for him outside. It was so stinking funny. J We were nervous too, because we didn’t see him with Hermano Avila. We found him in the hall. He has this adorable laugh and smile at his own jokes. He can’t even believe what HE just said. Hermana Diaz gave us adorable watches for my birthday…I was treated way too well this birthday. It was another fantastic week. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and family, thank you so much for the package…you better bet I loved the dirt and worms! MY FAVE! HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK! SHARE THE GOSPEL! J
