Transfer News
You probably are not going to believe me when I say what happened
at transfers…you ready? Ok, so my adorable trainee Hermana Gubeli is here with
me! Again! We only spent three transfers apart and now I get to train her how
to be a sister training leader. How fun! We are very happy and excited. I was
almost sure it wasn’t possible, but it is. J Things have been great and super easy this week because we know
exactly what the other person needs and how they function.
We had lots of opportunities for service this week. We helped
Hermana Harper’s daughter move as well as Janet with her house. I love Janet!
Anyway, that’s about all I can think of. Sorry this is short, but we are
actually doing zone sports today so I get to go beat some elders at lightening!
J BOO-YA!
Saying goodbye to Hermana Fallentine was NOT easy in any way. I
love that girl so much. I was actually crying. I felt ridiculous because we are
totally going to hang out afterwards, but for now it just broke my heart a bit.
We have so many fun and sweet memories together. She is now where Sister Gubeli
was back up training the sister that Sister Gubeli was training.
We had a super busy week but I will just touch on the highlights.
MLC last week was great. We got Chic-fil-a on the way up! I was in heaven. And
since the last trip, everyone wants me to do their eyebrows so I did, haha. We
stayed at the mission home this time. We got there kind of late but got to chat
with President and his wife for a bit. That was nice. They are so great! I had
to play the piano at MLC which was way difficult with these nails, but it
worked. MLC was so energizing and inspiring. It always is.
I loved it when we talked about the letter of the law and the
spirit of the law. So many think that the spirit of the law is taking the
letter and going above it AND below it sometimes. That isn’t it at all. The
spirit of the law is going ABOVE the standard set for us. There are so many
examples in the scriptures. Letter= to not kill, Spirit= to not even get angry
to put yourself in that position. Letter=don’t commit adultery, Spirit= don’t
even think it! That was also reiterated at General Conference when someone said,
“If you think it, you already broke the commandment in your heart.” That is
something I want to work on. Also the idea of living the Spirit of the law in
joyfully doing the things asked of us. When we are compelled to do things, we
are NOT living the Spirit of the law. It brought me back to good old Rexburg
and BYU Idaho. That is something they really hit on there.
General Conference was also amazing! One of my favorites was
Richard G. Scott. He is such a real person. I love that we can look to our
leaders and people in the Book of Mormon as examples to follow. I loved that he
said that his family was blessed having both parents be returned missionaries.
That made me super happy, because being a missionary is not easy and that was
just a confirmation that this will all definitely be worth it.
Love you all so terribly much! Oh yeah, you all better be reading
Preach My Gospel now. I told you to do it before, but now an apostle is backing
me up, haha!
