On Tuesday night we had a very sweet meeting with the branch
president. I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome he is. Anyway, because we
acted on a very simple prompting, he was able to receive very important revelation
for the branch regarding what we will be focusing on. It made me rethink how
the Holy Ghost is guiding us every minute and how I will never second guess
whether a thought I have comes from Heavenly Father or not. What I especially
love about our branch president is that he wants to help others fulfill their
responsibilities. Many leaders will just do the job that no one else will…that
doesn’t make a good leader. You have to animar, love, and train people how to
do their jobs and find success. That is something that I have learned from him.
When we went by with Olivia on Wednesday, she had written in her new
study journal and had studied a bunch! J We invited her to come out with us to visit
others and she was so excited. We also went to see Hermana Astudillo to take
her a few things. The air in their apartment hasn’t been working which is CRAZY
because they have four young kids and it is so hot. We took them a fan and a
few things. They are taking their twins to a doctor to see if they can help
them because they are so hyperactive…like crazy hyperactive. I can’t really
mention all of the things they do, especially to us haha. They are the cutest
chubbiest three year old twins but man they are nuts. When they don’t get what
they want they run into the wall and start banging their heads against it or
anything else. On Wednesday night they were on a spitting fest and wanting to
put their boogers on me. But they also did NOT want us to leave when we were
leaving, so they are recognizing us even though they can’t speak yet. Hermana
Astudillo is really worried about them. She is only 22 and has four kids. Thank
goodness her other two are tranquilos!
We put together a volleyball activity and it went super well. It was
to find new investigators. A lot of the members brought friends. It was also a
bit crazy too, because they were planning and setting up for Gladys’ wedding
which was the next day. It was a very last minute thing but has wanted it to
happen for three years so she could get baptized. I played the piano at the
wedding. It was a pretty great wedding considering how much time they had. They
used the frozen food that was left from the youth conference recently held.
Have I told you how great my sweet companion is? She is such a great
example and so humble and positive. I have really been blessed with the best
companions (miss you Sister Fallentine).
We also had an awesome week with Olivia. We had her do some of her family
history which was super neat. We want her to be able to go to the temple as
soon as she can to do baptisms for family members. Also we had her come out
with us to visit another investigator. There is nothing better than that!
Taking your investigator out to be your third companion. It was so great
because she testified the heck out of the lesson. J She talked about how
she had never felt like she was in the right place until now. LOVE HER! She
passed her interview and we are still on for Saturday. She decided that with
her polio she is going to use her crutches to go into the font and she wants
everyone to see. She wants to be an inspiration to others that her polio hasn’t
held her back. It is really great! J
Cute
little story to end my email about the family I was talking about earlier. They
finally all came to church! The little cute five year old girl, Abril was getting
attacked by her twin brothers. One of them wacked her in the back and she
started crying. Well Sister Venegas was trying to calm her down and was telling
her things like “You are so strong Abril, you can do it!” She said, “No I am
not…I am weak.” Then Sister Venegas said, “No you aren’t. You are bigger and
stronger than them.” Then she said, “No I am not…they eat a lot of bread.” Comen
mucho pan! HAHA WE WERE DYING! #eatyourbread
