Update on Investigators

I feel like a lot happened this week and at the same time it just flew by! I want to update you on our investigators who are doing so great right now!
First, Olivia Soriano will have the Book of Mormon finished by the end of the this summer (and she actually studies it). We are helping her resolve her doubts and concerns and every time we go by she has read a ton in the Book of Mormon. J She highlights the stuff she likes (there is always a lot of yellow). At zone training on Friday we were committed to talking about the temple more with our investigators, less actives, and members. It brings a beautiful spirit and so that was our focus this week…temples. It has made a beautiful difference in our lessons. It makes tons of sense to be talking about it more, because that really is the goal we have for our investigators…not to just get baptized, but to also make it to the temple, which brings me to Ana.
Ana was baptized a year ago in August. We will be focusing on the temple more and she may be the one I get to go with to the temple before my mission is up. I KNOW for sure that Mary Thompson will go in a year from her baptism, but that is in February. Ana’s sister Isabel will be going with her husband in December. J I just want to be here for all of it!
Ok next, JULIE! She is also progressing a ton! She loves it when we come by. She is now reading on her own. In my entire mission, I have never had so many investigators actually doing their reading assignments. It is so exciting, because that is when their hearts really start to soften.
Deiri and Brandon will be getting baptized NEXT week, the 15th. It has changed a few times, but this is almost certain. After that we have a for sure baptism the 2nd of August with little Carlitos (Ana and Isabel’s little brother).
Hermana Roblero, from my first area, got ahold of me to tell me that her less-active sister lives in our area and that she wants to start coming back to church. I felt very honored that she trusted us with her sister. I LOVE THIS WOMAN!  She was my very first dinner on the mission. They took us out to dinner to talk about her sister and they brought Arlyn, their daughter. They didn’t tell her I would be there and she freaked out when she saw me. Apparently she is always asking about me. YAY, she didn’t forget me! When we had the lesson yesterday with Hermana Roblero and her sister Claudia, Arlyn had school. Hermana Roblero had to lie and tell her that it would be different misioneras, because she was really upset that she came. Well Hermana Roblero is the sweetest and even fixed us lunch at her sisters. She made my favorite rice! I haven’t tried better rice my ENTIRE mission. I will make it for you when I get home. J

I have an invitation for all of you this week…bear your testimony about the temple, whether it be the opportunity we have to do family history, do the work for those you have passed away, the feelings you have in the temple, why it is so important to you. I can promise you that IMMEDIATELY the Spirit will be there and it will touch the heart of the person you are speaking to. I know it, because I have seen it. SO DO IT!
